From September 2014 the government has asked all local authorities to publish a SEND Information Report detailing provisions and services they expect to be available in their area for children and young people from 0 to 25 who have special educational needs and/or a disability (SEND).

For more details on the Local Authority Local Offer, please visit the Newcastle Families Information Service website HERE. Alternatively, email localoffer@newcastle.gov.uk

Every school must publish what they can offer their students, including those with SEND. Walker Riverside Academy is a fully inclusive Academy that ensures all students achieve their potential personally, socially, emotionally and academically in all areas of the curriculum (regardless of their gender, ethnicity, social background, religion, sexual identity, physical ability or educational needs).  Information regarding our Local Offer can be found within our SEND Information Report, which is within our SEN and Disability Policy; intended to give you information regarding the ways in which we ensure we support all of our students, including those with SEND, in order that they can realise their potential.

If you would like to find out more, please contact our SENDCo, Mrs Hart at lauren.hart@walker.academy or call the Academy directly.

If your enquiry is related to a child in Years 7 and 8, please contact our Lower School SENDCo, Mrs Gordon at helen.gordon@walker.academy.

For further information on how SEND is approached at Walker Riverside Academy, please visit our SEND INFORMATION page.
