We have a clear ethos and set of values here at Walker Riverside Academy, which affect the environment and culture you will find in and around our community.
We promote BRITISH VALUES within our Academy.
We are an 11-16, all ability Academy built upon a starting premise that everyone is made to feel welcome, safe and supported at Walker Riverside Academy. We are an inclusive community that believes in maintaining strong partnerships with parents/carers and students to ensure that our learners thrive in a secure and stimulating environment. We are committed to providing a quality education where the individual is valued and respected.
Our Academy community is tolerant and respectful of the rich cultural diversity in Walker. We provide students with the skills and knowledge they need for a life after education. Our students graduate from the Academy with a sense of self-knowledge, self-esteem and self-confidence. We promote a climate in which young people feel safe and secure. Our students learn the essence of what is right and wrong and they are encouraged to accept personal responsibility for their role within their community. We foster an environment of tolerance and harmony between different cultural traditions by enabling students to acquire an appreciation of, and respect for, their own and other cultures and celebrate the British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect.
High standards of dress, behaviour and achievement are at the core of our Academy, with no excuses. Together we celebrate our unique and longstanding traditions that promote opportunities for memorable curriculum to leave a lasting impression on all our stakeholders.
